The sensors are designed to measure current and voltage in distribution networks, usually at the medium and high voltage levels, in order to obtain a signal for protection systems, emergency diagnostics, and the calculation of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of electricity. Sensors, also called low-power measuring transformers, generate an AC voltage signal in accordance with IEC 61869-10 and IEC 61869-11.
